Why you should not miss your Class Reunion....

Most certainly many former students, no matter what high school they attended, ask the age old question; "Why should I attend my class reunion?"  It is a valid question, and I am sure if you expend a large allotment of time and mental effort, one could find a myriad of reasons not to make an appearance.

Some of us will choose not to attend because we are concerned about appearances of all types... "Man, I can't go because I've changed so much", or "I've changed but no one else has", "Gee, what if people discover that I'm not where I want them to think I am" or, "I'm so past that high school thing, I've moved on and so should they..."

We are not entirely the "same" people that took those final steps from the memorable halls of White Bear Lake Senior High School some 50 years ago.  Back then we were all fresh faces, some with dreams in hand and spirit, eager to stamp our own unique signature into this temporal world.  Some of those dreams came to fruition for some, for others dreams changed and evolved into a different and marvelous reality, totally unfathomable as children.

Whatever we have become, for the most part we are far better people than when we left the launching pad back in 1970.  We are more articulate, expressive and more self-assured of ourselves now.  We have the ability to fight through the insecurities of youth and peer pressure that limited the full potential that resided in us, chained deep within our psyches.  For once we can reveal our true selves and in return uncover the 'undiscovered country' in our friend's lives.  We are more complete people.  Can you imagine what the grand total of all of our collective life experiences would be?  It could fill thousands of books the size of "War and Peace"!

It is a time of rediscovering why we were all friends and companions at one time.  The fact that we have shared a common experience during a moment in time that was extremely blessed by God and directed by loved ones, is the social glue that beckons at the core of our souls to come home, one more time.

It is our hope and prayer that you join us and have a blast at your reunion.  Understand that time is a precious and limited commodity.  Invest it wisely and reap the wealth in a payout of smiles, laughs and love.  Please join us and help us celebrate life, and the fact that we are still able to celebrate it!

Even if you think you might not be able to make it to the reunion, or are not yet sure, please sign the "Guest Book" so you can keep up on any new postings and/or watch as new classmates are added to the website periodically.  We know you are curious what others from our class have to say, and what they are doing now!  We promise we won't bug you... too much.

And don't be afraid to post some pictures yourself, or add your 2 cents worth on the "Blog Page" or the message board.  We want your input ESPECIALLY if you can't make it, so get to work!

Hello!  I was completely blown away when I received your invitation a couple months ago.  You see, I left the White Bear district in 8th grade.  How did Mary ever find me?!?  At any rate, I've thought about my years in so many schools, about who I remember and who might ever remember me.  After leaving White Bear Lake schools ('cause I'm pretty sure I was in all of them), we moved to southern California and returned to Minneapolis in 1970.  I've been to three different high schools alone!  I did graduate Minneapolis Roosevelt but spent only about three months there so I know absolutely no one.  Bottom line: I'd be honored to accept your invitation to be part of the White Bear Lake class of 1970 if you'll still have me.  My son-in-law says, "Nope, not your graduating class".  My sister, Bonnie, says, "Can I come too?"  I'll leave it up to you all.   Thanks for the memories!   10 Random Things I Remember about my days downtown,  in Birchwood and near Bald Eagle Lake might be a fun read.

This will be my first reunion after a mere 50 years so I don't know quite what to expect. I am looking forward to seeing people that I've lost track of in that time.

Fun to watch what people share. Not who I was, not sure I\'d be friends with that person; but we are all who we are now!

Lots of fun trying to contact people. Women make sure you provide your maiden name. I have seen some names I don\'t recognize, I have to assume it\'s their maiden names.
